Deering Eagle Series
Deering had combined their love for the banjo and decades of experience to bring about the first model of the original new series called The Eagle series. The Eagle 2 banjo has exciting new engraved inlays designed by Greg Deering, a new decorative flange and a patent pending tone ring.
The 2010 tone ring was 3 years in development by Greg Deering, master banjo player Jens Kruger and Philip Zanon. They blazed new and exciting territory in tone ring technology to create a rich, powerful and traditional sound in the Eagle 2 banjo. Greg Deering personally developed new manufacturing techniques that allowed them to bring the Eagle 2 banjo to you with a top professional quality that you don’t normally find in banjos in this price range.

The 2010 tone ring and 2 piece flange on the Eagle Series are noticeably lighter in weight than the 06 cast bronze tone rings and zinc flanges found on most other Deering banjos. Comfortable to hold and play but still have that pop when you need it.

Traditionally the heavier tone rings have always been seen to produce the bigger sounds but can be too heavy for some players to handle for longer periods. The Eagle Series White Lotus model uses American white oak which now gives the banjo player the much desired lighter weight banjo with “tone ring” power but without actually having a tone ring!
