The Deering Goodtime Leader ‘Picking Earl’ has a higher specification than the standard Goodtime 2. It is fitted with planetary geared Deering classic banjo tuner pegs and black inlaid side dot neck position markers. A Modern remake of the original Gibson RB3 model 'The Banger' played by JD Crowe with the no hole tonering. The OB-3 Twanger was born. After extensive research, and with great attention to every detail, Gold Tone was able to rebirth this classic banjo. What makes this banjo truly unique is its "No Hole" tone ring, which really tightens up the sustain. It also features the original measurements on the headstock, neck and body, nickel plated hardware, slanted resonator walls, vintage inlay, a Presto tailpiece, concentric resonator rings, and a brown mahogany finish. Handmade in North Carolina, USA the Rambler Special is similar to the Rambler Dobson but with a few upgrades.  This banjo is available with an aged brass or copper rim. The softer metals give this banjo a little warmer tone while maintaining sustain and projection.  Another upgrade to this banjo is the Pisgah Hawktail tailpiece. This allows for more downward pressure on the bridge so that there is better clarity on each note. All hardware made in USA by Pisgah.

The Deering Goodtime Leader ‘Old Time Earl’ is an excellent open back banjo with a rock maple neck designed and set-up primarily for playing Old time, frailing and clawhammer styles. It is fitted with a Deering Renaissance head, Goodtime nickel plated flat armrest and a USA ‘No-Knot’ tailpiece to give you that gentle, full depth of tone that is favoured by Old Time artists. Also fitted to this brilliant Old Time banjo is a set of hand-crafted Eagle-Puretone strings with phosphor bronze wound 3rd and 4th strings.
