A Modern remake of the original Gibson RB3 model 'The Banger' played by JD Crowe with the no hole tonering. The OB-3 Twanger was born. After extensive research, and with great attention to every detail, Gold Tone was able to rebirth this classic banjo. It is fitted with a set of back facing Planetary Geared Deering Classic banjo tuning pegs and inlaid black side dot neck position markers. It is an excellent open back banjo with a USA rock maple neck and is set up for playing all styles, it is lightweight and easy to handle and carry for travelling if needed. The sound from this banjo is incredible! The three ply solid violin maple rim is the same quality as found on pre-war Mastertone banjos.
