Customer reviews
It is a substantial book and covers everything quite literally from picking the Mandolin up for the first time. It teaches: finger positions, finger strengthening exercises, chords, scales, and TAB / tablature in a very straightforward way. It moves on to playing some tunes like Derry Air and then goes on to a whole section teaching about 26 tunes in both TAB and music, and lots more like playing along with the CD which is invaluable. Within five days I went from scratch to playing The Star of the County Down and The Derry Air! YOU DON'T NEED TO BE ABLE TO READ MUSIC. It's brilliant, I think THE BEST book for beginners out there.
