The Kamaka family has been dedicated to building skillfully-handcrafted ukuleles since 1916, almost a century of dedication to quality. The HF-36 is a beautiful hand crafted 6 tring tenor ukulele with an unmatched Hawaiian sound. Each individual Kamaka ukulele is a heritage hand crafted, highest quality instrument with the pure traditional Hawaiian tone.
The heritage of ukulele making at Kamaka Hawaii is preserved by second and third generation Hawaiian luthiers, as well as the many talented craftsmen at the Kakaako factory in Honolulu. Each Kamaka ukulele has its own individual Serial Number. This heirloom quality instrument is supplied complete with a Kamaka Custom hard shell case.

The 6-string has doubled first and third strings tuned in octaves.
Also known as "the Liliu," the Tenor 6-String was designed by Sam Kamaka Jr. in 1959 to commemorate Hawaii statehood and pay tribute to Hawaii's last reigning monarch, Queen Liliuokalani. In 1978, a Liliu was presented to the White House as Hawaii's Regional Gift.
