Description
Our company owner Steve Noon, has played Irish Tenor Banjo for over three decades.
Throughout this period of time Steve and his wife Joan have visited Ireland on a regular basis and played music with some of Ireland’s greatest traditional musicians.
It was many years ago when Steve first met banjo ace Kieran Hanrahan at an all Ireland Fleadh Cheoil (festival of music) A multiple all Ireland banjo champion, founder member of 'Stocktons Wing' and RTE radio presenter, Kieran is without question one of the greatest Irish tenor banjo players of all time.
Steve has noted over the years that there are many different string gauges used by top Irish tenor banjo players, the string set here is the one preferred by Kieran and gauged 12 plain, 16 plain, 28w Phosphor bronze Wound, 38w Phosphor bronze Wound
Kieran uses this set on his 19 fret Deering Calico Banjo that was supplied to him by Eagle Music.
